Semarang district is located on the main highway that connects Semarang-Solo and Semarang-Yogyakarta. Sorrounded by mount Ungaran, mount Merbabu, mount Gajah Mungkur, mount Sindoro, and mount Sumbing. The capital of Semarang is Ungaran on the slope of mount Ungaran. The city of Ungaran borders the city of Semarang to the north. Semarang district is well known for its pristine forest, tea plantation, and rice fields. Water falls and natural springs can be found in many parts of Semarang. Some of the famous water falls are: Semirang, Curug Lawe, Curug Benowo, Curug Bolodewo. Natural springs are: Senjoyo, Sendang Nyatnyono, and Muncul.
